1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the services of Irish Courier & Logistics ("the Company"), you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Irish Courier & Logistics.

If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these terms. The Company may modify these terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting on our website.

Important: It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically for changes. Continued use of our services after changes constitute acceptance of those changes.

2. Services Provided

Irish Courier & Logistics provides courier and logistics services including but not limited to:

  • Same-day and next-day delivery services within Ireland
  • International shipping and logistics
  • Warehousing and storage solutions
  • Specialized handling for fragile, valuable, or temperature-sensitive items
  • Freight services for larger consignments

The Company reserves the right to refuse service to anyone at its discretion, especially if a shipment violates these terms or applicable laws.

3. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited from being shipped through our services:

3.1 Absolutely Prohibited Items

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances
  • Weapons, firearms, and ammunition
  • Explosives, flammable materials, and hazardous chemicals
  • Perishable food items without proper temperature control arrangements
  • Live animals without prior arrangement and proper documentation
  • Human remains or bodily fluids
  • Counterfeit or stolen goods

3.2 Restricted Items

The following items may be shipped only with prior written approval and under specific conditions:

  • Jewelry, precious metals, and stones
  • Cash, securities, and financial instruments
  • Antiques and works of art with high value
  • Electronics with lithium batteries
  • Items requiring special licenses or permits

Note: Shipment of prohibited items may result in termination of services, forfeiture of the shipment, and reporting to appropriate authorities.

4. Liability & Insurance

4.1 Standard Liability

Our standard liability for loss or damage is limited to the lesser of:

  • The actual value of the goods lost or damaged
  • €100 per shipment, or
  • The repair cost of damaged items

4.2 Declared Value & Additional Insurance

Customers may declare a higher value for their shipments and purchase additional insurance coverage. Additional charges will apply based on the declared value.

4.3 Exclusions from Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Loss or damage caused by improper packaging
  • Consequential damages, loss of profits, or indirect losses
  • Loss or damage due to circumstances beyond our control (force majeure)
  • Items prohibited under Section 3
  • Perishable items that deteriorate during transit

5. Payment Terms

Payment for services is due as follows:

5.1 Individual Customers

Payment is required at the time of booking or upon delivery, depending on the service selected.

5.2 Business Accounts

Approved business accounts will be invoiced on a weekly or monthly basis, with payment due within 14 days of invoice date.

5.3 Late Payments

Late payments may incur interest charges of 1.5% per month on the outstanding balance. The Company reserves the right to suspend services for accounts with overdue payments.

6. Claims Process

6.1 Notification

Claims for loss or damage must be notified to the Company in writing within 7 days of delivery (or expected delivery date for lost items).

6.2 Documentation

Claimants must provide:

  • Original proof of shipment
  • Proof of value for the items claimed
  • Photographs of damaged items and packaging
  • Any other documentation reasonably requested

6.3 Claim Resolution

The Company will investigate claims and respond within 30 business days. Approved claims will be settled according to the liability limits outlined in Section 4.

7. Privacy & Data Protection

Irish Courier & Logistics is committed to protecting your privacy and personal data. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR.

By using our services, you consent to:

  • Collection of necessary personal information for providing services
  • Use of your information for service-related communications
  • Sharing information with third parties only as necessary for service delivery

8. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement with written notice. The Company may immediately terminate services if:

  • The Customer breaches any term of this agreement
  • The Customer becomes insolvent or ceases business operations
  • The Company reasonably believes continuation of service may cause harm or liability

Termination does not affect any rights or liabilities that arose prior to termination.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

9.1 Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

9.2 Dispute Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiations. If unresolved after 30 days, either party may pursue formal remedies.

9.3 Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
